Dysautonomia affects the body in complex, often unseen ways, and looks different for everyone living with it.

What is Dysautonomia?
Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used for conditions that affect the autonomic nervous system, which helps control automatic body functions like heart rate, blood pressure, temperature regulation, digestion, breathing, and more.
Symptoms and experiences can vary widely from person to person, but may include dizziness, fainting, fatigue, rapid heart rate, nausea, temperature regulation difficulties, and blood pressure changes. Dysautonomia can occur on its own or alongside other conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), autoimmune conditions, spinal cord injuries, diabetes, long COVID, and more.
POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) is one of the more widely recognised forms of dysautonomia. Support and treatment can involve lifestyle changes, hydration, compression, medications, mobility aids, physical therapy, and other management strategies depending on the individual.
